As the new year starts, so does a new life. I got the pleasure yesterday of holding my friends' precious little one, Layla. Oh how I love that new, wrinkly baby skin, tiny features, and eyelids fluttering to adjust to new surroundings. A great reminder of how uniquely and preciously we are each made--and loved.

"Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them. Glorious and majestic are His deeds, and His righteousness endures forever." Psalm 111:2-3
I often stop to admire the stunning beauty of the world around us--how breathtaking are the works of the Lord who has intricately woven landscapes, animals, and people together. In the past year, I've discovered a new love of trying to capture these still, small moments. While my little camera and amateur eye can never compare with the true magnificence of the real imagery experienced, I am determined to grow in this way, this year. My goal is to stop more often and enjoy the scenery; to photograph these moments to remember the feeling of amazement; to be thankful. This year, I want to encounter Creation.
